Pontedilana: towards a biodiverse planet

Regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, we are working on: Gender Equality (SDG 5), promoting a fair and inclusive environment; Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), supporting ethical labour practices; Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), highlighted by the use of FSC or recycled paper, purchase of refurbished equipment and energy optimisation of sites and applications; Climate Action (SDG 13), using carbon neutral data centres and renewable energy; Life On Earth (SDG 15), implementing measures to reduce the environmental impact of our business..

Pontedilana joined forces with its scientific partner 3Bee to create its own Oasis of Biodiversity, consisting of 50 nectariferous trees in the Veneto region. "Supporting the planting of nectariferous trees is a tangible sign of environmental responsibility for us, a sign that will also involve our customers because every project concluded with Pontedilana will have a dedicated tree. Trees are true "champions" in the fight against climate change, they absorb CO2 in the atmosphere and play a fundamental role in the ecosystem, providing a vital habitat for many species of pollinating insects, such as bees, butterflies, ladybirds and many others," explains Barbara Pontello. This is a tangible and measurable project that will contribute to the largest study and research project on pollinating insects and biodiversity. The nectariferous forest planted within the Oasis of Pontedilana will help feed 75,000 pollinators each year.
