Last minute and sustainable Christmas gifts

The mad rush for presents has come to an end: no more exhausting searches for the best original and sustainable ideas this Christmas. Yet 1 in 3 Italians recycles Christmas presents because they are useless. The solution? Our sustainable gifts are designed with the aim of protecting and regenerating biodiversity starting with the pollinators, which are increasingly endangered by the consequences of climate change, extreme urbanisation and the proliferation of viruses and bacteria. All our projects can be purchased directly via the website.

With "Adopt a 3Bee hive" anyone can, through adoption, read in real time on their smartphone the data describing life inside one of the hives throughout Italymonitored with 3Bee intelligent systems, following the life of the bees day by day, for a whole year. And that's not all: adoption includes the personalised certificate of your adopted hive and, for plans that include shipping the honey, you can receive it at home. In fact, the key to our work is biomonitoring. Only by studying the current and specific situation in a given area can we understand what is the best way forward to safeguard its biodiversity.

Biomonitoring data are collected by the Hive-Tech system, which analyses weight, temperature (inside and outside), sound and humidity of the hives. Alongside the Hive-Tech system, there is also PollyX, the monitoring system for Osmia Rufa type wild pollinator hives. This device monitors the weight and particulate matter in the air, providing a picture of the pollution level in the area where the devices are located. It is possible to purchase a polly house and thus protect not only honey bees, but also solar bees. Osmias, in particular, are inncue because of their soft, self-sufficient sting.

"Adopt a 3Bee beehive" is not only online at the 3Bee website but also becomes a gift box, the Box 3Bee: the sustainable phygital gift, whose aim is to put participants in touch with the product, offline at participating newsstands, in a natural and spontaneous way and, at the same time, create an online experience. In fact, in 2022, Italian consumers will probably be more inclined to combine in-store and online shopping and the Box3Bee fits perfectly into this trend. The Box3Bee consists of a handbook on pollinators, beekeepers in our network and the different titpologies of honey

There is no doubt about the goodness and appreciation of sustainable gift-giving, because the number of trees planted has increased exponentially in recent years. For this reason, we have launched the 'Adopt a tree' project, based on the planting of nectariferous trees on Italian territory, starting with an analysis by our agronomists of the areas with the greatest shortage of pollinator grazing. So it's off to adopt a 3Bee nectariferous tree, from January complete with edutainment content in an app to monitor the plant's growth.
