Marco Mengoni wins it all: festival, fanta and sustainability

The Sanremo Festival was not given due attention to the issue of sustainability. Here is our recap on the FantaSanremo Sustainable Bonus, our expectations and hopes for next year. We planted 100 trees in the Oasi dei Fiori.

Sustainability: big absentee of the Sanremo Festival 2023

During the seventy-third Italian Song Festival, various topics were touched upon, focusing in particular on the figure of women in society. There were many speeches in favour, from Chiara Ferragni 's monologue on being a young entrepreneur to Chiara Francini who recounted the difficult dichotomy between becoming or never becoming a mother. Gender equity is part of social sustainability, yet no one has ever exposed themselves to environmental sustainability. The increasingly evident climate crisis we are witnessing has never been explicitly mentioned through reflection or a strong, concrete gesture. The impression is that once againa great opportunity to raise awareness on the subject has been wasted.

Being the Sustainability Partner of FantaSanremo gave us the opportunity to spread the importance of protecting ecosystems and regenerating biodiversity. The Sustainable Bonus was unlocked by some singers, but only during the last two evenings of the competition and by silent methods, in particular the jacket decorated with a golden bee worn by LDA and the pin with a bee placed on the clothes of the Cugini di Campagna. 3Bee's pledge was to plant a nectariferous tree for every Sustainable Bonus unlocked. Although the accumulated points were not numerous, we at 3Bee chose to plant 100 trees anyway, which can be freely monitored in the Flower Oasis created for the occasion. Our gesture is intended as an invitation to make a greater commitment to corporate sustainability, especially at events with such an important resonance as the Sanremo Festival.

Marco Mengoni and the Sustainable Bonus

Marco Mengoni is the winner of the Sanremo Festival 2023, with the song 'Due Vite'. In addition to winning the city's coveted symbolic prize (a rampant lion leaning on a palm tree) for the second time, he also won the highly popular FantaSanremo. As Sustainability Partner of FantaSanremo, we also crowned him King of Sustainability. Always attentive to environmental issues, he also brought his sensitivity on the subject to the Ariston stage. Mengoni was in fact the first to unlock the Sustainable Bonus, wearing vintage eco-leather clothes, giving new life to an item that would otherwise have remained locked in a wardrobe or even thrown away. Our wish is that the commitment, of citizens and companies towards the regeneration of biodiversity and our ecosystems grows more and more.
