Weight is one of the most interesting parameters to keep track of. It is the simplest and most direct means of knowing whether one's bee colony is in good health and what the level of production is. An increase in weight may mean that the queen is present and laying eggs and/or that the other bees are producing honey. A decrease, on the other hand, could mean a loss of production, a brood blockage or sacking in progress. Knowing how to carefully read the weight trend is crucial for the beekeeper. From it he can tell when the bees start foraging and how much and how fast the family is growing, when the importation of nectar ends and when the right time to remove or add honeycombs arrives. It is also very important to understand the level of stocks in the nest before wintering.

In order to be able to constantly monitor the weight trend of one's hive, traditional weighing methods are ineffective and inaccurate. Using a beehive scale specifically designed and manufactured for bees and beekeepers, on the other hand, is the answer to this growing need for security, precision and immediacy. Remote control and always having the possibility to view the production progress of one's hives becomes an important tool for one's daily work, but not only. Being able to monitor the weight accurately, in real time and remotely also allows you to guard against climatic or malicious incidents. A sudden and unjustified change in weight could indicate that the hive is no longer in its location because it has been knocked over by the wind or vandalism. Noticing this in time is vital to save one's bees and honey production.

For these reasons, 3Bee has developed an innovative beehive scale, tailored precisely to the needs and problems of beekeepers. The 3Bee scale is the most compact on the market, light, handy and easy to use: simply lift one side of the hive and place it. It is therefore ideal for both sedentary and nomadic beekeeping. The data collected is sent to the cloud thanks to an integrated multi-operator SIM. On its own customised platform, data and graphs can be analysed.
