The benchmark for pet care and welfare

Animalia Group was founded in Italy in 2019 with the aim of integrating into a single group, veterinary facilities of excellence and evolving the veterinary sector. "We are a group in which all veterinarians share the same passion for the care and well-being of animals and the same desire to improve every day, offering a quality service to pets and their families. - says Silvia Siviero, Marketing & Customer Experience Manager of Gruppo Animalia - "We foster the collaboration between the Group's professionals through shared paths of growth, investment and research. We are present in almost the whole of Italy with clinics, diagnostic and outpatient centres, now counting more than 40 facilities and over 600 veterinarians."

    Pet sector and environmental impact

The impact that Gruppo Animalia wants to start generating is related to the veterinary sector. Considering the moment of great change that is characterising Italy, the Group's objective is to play a leading role in the evolution of veterinary medicine in our country, in order to support and provide an increasingly high quality specialist service within facilities. The pet sector has a not inconsiderable impact on the environment,. Looking at the numbers - 90 million households in Europe have a pet and 33% of the world's population owns at least one - the issue becomes urgent, both on the corporate side to find more sustainable solutions, and on the owner side on issues of awareness, education and awareness on the issue. Certainly there are already many projects going in this direction, it will be important to work systemically to be able to generate a positive impact on different levels and involving all actors.

The positive aspects of human-pet interaction

However, it is important to consider the positive aspects of human-pet interaction, such as the emotional and social support that pets can provide to their owners. The concept of pet parenting has changed a lot, especially in the last four years. The Covid-19 pandemic was a sudden and dramatic event that radically changed our lives. Social relationships have taken a hit and many have faced a sense of emptiness to fill. In this critical context, pets played a key role in alleviating the suffering of many people, making isolation less difficult to bear. Just during the peak months of the pandemic, in fact, there was a significant increase in dog and cat adoptions. This phenomenon was part of a trend that had already been going on for some time, accelerating and consolidating it: that of considering pets as effective members of the family.

    Gruppo Animalia's Biodiversity Oasis

The Oasi Animalia, created thanks to the partnership with 3Bee, aims to foster the conservation of local biodiversity. Thanks to the 200 nectariferous trees planted in Lombardy, Marche and Tuscany, around 115 kg of nectar will be produced, thus guaranteeing nourishment to over 20,000 pollinators, responsible for around 75% of the world's crops and precious guardians of biodiversity. To better pursue its mission of evolving the veterinary sector and taking care of the well-being of animals, Gruppo Animalia considers it appropriate to broaden its outlook to also preserve the planet that hosts them. Gruppo Animalia's aim is to grow the Oasis also with the contribution of all the people who choose their facilities, in order to strengthen the alliance with pet owners, directly involving them in the project.

    Gruppo Animalia's commitment to biodiversity

"It would be nice to think that those who decide to welcome a pet into the family already possess a certain sensitivity towards sustainability and the environment. It is therefore an opportunity to promote sustainable behaviour and choices, since the relationship with the pet can become a drive to develop greater awareness, also with regard to the livelihood and wellbeing of the pet itself." The project with 3Bee represents for Gruppo Animalia the first step of a path towards biodiversity that, according to Silvia Siviero, Marketing & Customer Experience Manager of the Group, has a strong potential for growth and continuity and symbolises a "gift" for all the Group's collaborators, but also a concrete gesture and choice towards the environment and the territory.
