ONE OF THE MOST WORRYING DROUGHT-RELATED DEATHS

The whole of northern Italy has officially started procedures to declare a formal state of emergency in its region. Agriculture on its knees has raised the alert level and 3Bee reminds us that bees are also suffering. A constant deficit situation for the rivers is spreading to all sources of water available to pollinators.

RECORDED BEE WEIGHT LOSSES OF UP TO 400 G PER DAY

Plants have reduced their nectar flow and water sources are drying up. The bees monitored by 3Bee are recording alarming daily drops in weight due to the lack of water. Indeed, the devices report that the bees are losing about 300 to 400 g in weight every day. This is leading to massive starvation. "To manage the emergency we must get it into our heads that the effects of climate change are a film constantly playing in front of our eyes. We pay the ticket to this show every day, waiting for the twist that sooner or later some heroic protagonist will manage. 3Bee with this campaign wants to gather as many protagonists of change as possible, to make available the most up-to-date information on the state of health of bees, pollinators and the biodiversity of our territory, to create awareness and act now." Niccolò Calandri.

TECHNOLOGY IN THE SERVICE OF BIODIVERSITY

3Bee since 2019 bases its operations on the distribution of hive-tech monitoring technology on apiaries owned by more than 3000 beekeepers across Italy. By constantly mapping colony trends, their reduction in number, survival and production capacity, the technology captures research data useful for the prevention and control of Italian bees.

    LAND REDEVELOPMENT THROUGH LOCAL PLANTING

Not only technology for beehives, but a real forest planting project with high nectar impact supports the lack of grazing from which our country suffers. Thanks to the network of growers and beekeepers it has developed, 3Bee nurtures every day the planting of forest plants capable of producing nectar supplies over time for the regeneration of forests on the ground that can naturally compensate for the shortage of supplies and nourishment for bees.

    LA CAMPAGNA “THE GREAT MELTDOWN”

Thanks to its association with the world of cinema, 3Bee has created a campaign that tells the story of how every day we witness the effects of the greatest enemy of our time: climate change. The bitter feeling we experienced with the melting of part of our glaciers is proof that we cannot ignore that we must act now for our very survival, starting with the care of our country's biodiversity. In fact, bees and pollinators, responsible for 80% of the entire human and animal food chain, are directly affected by even the most delicate of balances, and never before have we experienced the greatest losses. Awareness raising and awareness are at the heart of the message of 'The Great Meltdown', active at the airports of Rome Fiumicino and Orio al Serio. With the participation of a group of influencers spokespersons for the campaign, including Barbascura, Legolize, Breaking Italy.
