From COP16 to Biodiversity Monitoring: how businesses can drive real change

The results of COP16 in Cali have reinforced the urgent need for companies to address their impacts on biodiversity. While 43% of major companies have started reporting on biodiversity, driven by the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), significant gaps remain. For example, only 10% assess their dependencies on nature, despite the fact that the economic cost of biodiversity loss is estimated to be between $4 trillion and $20 trillion annually. Even so, progress is insufficient, with only 23% tracking water data and only 10% addressing deforestation. Recognising this urgency, nature tech company 3Bee participated in COP16 in Cali and is now organizing a webinar to discuss key takeaways and next steps for businesses.
