    The importance of bees

Bees, both honey bees and solitary bees, are fundamental pollinators. On their daily work depends about 70% of crops and almost 90% of wild plants. Without them, we would no longer be able to eat most of the foods we find on our tables every day: cherries, apples, pears, citrus fruits, peaches, kiwis, chestnuts, melons, courgettes, carrots, onions, etc. Natural habitats, ecosystems and biodiversity itself also rely on pollination, which gives many plants the opportunity to proliferate and spread. World Bee Day not only wants to highlight how dependent we are on these tiny animals, but also what threats are endangering their well-being and survival. Indeed, climate change, the progressive loss of natural habitats, the abuse of pesticides and agro-medicines in agriculture, diseases, pests and predators are creating an increasingly less bee-friendly environment.

    Adopt a 3Bee hive

We at 3Bee have developed a remote monitoring system to help beekeepers keep an eye on their bees and the state of the hive at all times. In this way, they can intervene in a targeted manner when needed and better manage their business. With the project "Adopt a 3Bee hive", we give beekeepers the opportunity to sell their honey at a price even higher than the retail price, making their business known throughout Italy and beyond. "Adopt a 3Bee hive" allows everyone to get closer to the world of bees, remotely monitoring the hive and then receiving at home the fruit of the hard work of these industrious insects.

    A Conversation about Bees

To better celebrate this important day, we at 3Bee have decided to dedicate it entirely to bees and their incredible world. To this end, we have organised a series of meetings with people involved in different fields that affect bees, from beekeepers to researchers, from people involved in volunteer projects involving the beekeeping sector to those involved in popularisation, scientific or otherwise. You will be able to follow us online from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be a series of live interviews with our guests, each of whom will talk about the topic he/she is interested in. Your questions will be put to our guests to finally answer all your curiosities and doubts. Register for the event and follow us live on 20 May 2021!
