    The competition

On 19 November, the first 3Bee beekeeper event called Space Beekeeping took place at Mind in Milan. It was a morning of sharing and analysing the evolution of the beekeeping sector. The guests were numerous, including a number of beekeepers who spoke about their social and educational experiences. You can read more about the event in our article: Event for 3Bee beekeepers. The entire live broadcast was uploaded to our Official Facebook profile. It was very important for us to make the content available to all the people who could attend in attendance. At the end of the day, we announced the winners of the competition held in March 2022, for which we received more than 120 entries. Until the end of June, beekeepers were able to send in their photo for the category they wished to compete in.

    Biodiversity Apiary

The first category of the competition concerned one of the aspects that most characterises 3Bee's work: regenerating biodiversity To protect pollinators, including bees, it is not enough to monitor the hives, but also to create varied pasture areas rich in trees and nectariferous plants. The photograph therefore had to show the habitat in which the hives were located. The winner of the competition was Apiculturist Francesco Canale, who has dedicated himself to this wonderful activity for more than twenty years. An indissoluble passion passed on by his father-in-law. The beekeeping business is located in Lazio, in the province of Latina. Besides the moment of glory and satisfaction, Francesco won a Hive-Tech, a beekeeper's suit and a professional smoker. .

    Beekeeper's Essence

At 3Bee we have always tried to tell adopters and companies about the enormous and very important work that the beekeeper does every day. Putting him and the bee and their respective complementarity at the centre. This category was created precisely on the basis of this philosophy, to show the passion that every beekeeper has for his craft. The winner was Antonio Blessent, of Le Vije beekeeping, a young organic company operating in Canavese. Love for the environment and the search for quality are at the basis of his every choice. The photo that led him to also win a Hive-Tech and some beekeeping tools, was taken during the separation of two frames, through which you can see the bees and Antonio's concentrated face. It is impossible not to perceive the attention and care given to this necessary but delicate practice.

    Frame perfection

Finally, a category dedicated to the more technical side and which also definitely rewards our bee friends. The winner of the prize for the best frame is Andrea Santopolo. For this prize, i.e. the Hive-Tech and a 500 euro voucher to spend on Hobby Farm, sponsor of the event, the best quality photo showing the proportions of brood, honey and cells was chosen. Given the success and high participation in the competition, we have decided to repeat it again next year. The start date is March 2023 and it will be closed in June. We will keep you updated!
