Introduction to the call for tenders for Piedmont

Until 15 October, Piedmontese beekeepers have the opportunity to apply for funding for their activities. The call for applications is part of the regional programme for beekeeping in Piedmont and covers the period of activity from 1 August 2020 to 31 July 2021. More specifically, the investments that fall within the expenses financed by the grant are the purchase of equipment for running the apiary and equipment for processing, packaging and preserving beekeeping products. In addition to these measures aimed directly at beekeepers, there are specific measures for associations, cooperatives and research institutes. The total financial coverage for the beekeeping year 2020/21 is € 934,318.40. Specifically, measure A6 and C2.2 concern equipment and nomadic equipment respectively. The total contribution is 200,000.00€.

Who is eligible for beekeeping subsidies

Individual or associated beekeepers with a registered office in Piedmont are eligible. They must have compulsorily submitted an annual declaration of hive ownership for the year 2019 or 2020 by registering with the national beekeeping registry office. The minimum threshold of regularly reported hives is 52. Possession of a regular VAT number (beekeeping or agricultural) and registration in the Chamber of Commerce business register is mandatory. In addition to this, there is the obligation to have a company file with the CAA and to comply with the hygiene and health regulations for honey processing, both in the case of possession of honey extraction premises and in the case of activities with third parties.

Our remote monitoring systems are also included in these expenses. Our scales and anti-theft devices allow better and more rational management of beekeeping activity, especially in the case of nomadism.
