Webinar 3Bee: How Technology Supports the Beekeeper

In these difficult times, technological systems are coming to our aid, allowing us to shorten distances and encourage discussion. We decided to organise a webinar focusing on beekeeping and how technology can change, for the better, this sector.

    Remote Monitoring Systems

Until recently, the use of scales for remote control of hives or anti-theft systems was a luxury for the few. The devices on the market were still rudimentary, analysed only a few parameters and were expensive. Even then, however, they demonstrated how important they could be. So more and more attention was paid to the monitored parameters in order to give the beekeeper an increasingly concrete and effective support, not only to monitor production, but also to obtain important information. 3Bee introduced its first monitoring system to the market in 2018. The fully modular devices were created to meet the different needs of all beekeepers, from professionals to hobbyists.

    Continuously evolving team and product

Since 2018, our team has expanded, also supporting all the research and development activities that have led to today's more comprehensive product with extended potential. The R&D team is made up of firmware and hardware developers who design and improve our products, effectively creating a system that is increasingly responsive to beekeepers' needs. Not only that, however. Their fields of expertise also include everything behind the 3Bee monitoring system: the platform, the app, the device management. The team Operations deals with the more practical aspects, from order management to technical assistance to support beekeepers. The team Marketing, on the other hand, deals with the promotion of products and all activities involving beekeepers, making the wonderful world of bees and beekeeping known even to the uninitiated.

    The Adopt-a-Hive Project

Among the most important and successful initiatives carried out by 3Bee, we cannot fail to mention the 'Adopt a hive' project. With 'Adopt a hive', any beekeeper equipped with our Hive-Tech system can put his hive online and give anyone the opportunity to adopt it. Adoption is also associated with the sale of a certain amount of honey produced by the specific beekeeper. This honey, which is bought at the retail price, thus not devaluing the hard work of bees and beekeepers, is then sent by the beekeeper himself directly to his 'adopters', who will not only be able to enjoy the exquisiteness of a genuine, artisanal honey, but will also be able to monitor 'their' bees from a distance for a whole year.

A webinar for beekeepers made by beekeepers

We will talk about this and how the beekeeper's work has changed thanks to these new technologies during our webinar. We will also have with us 3 beekeepers who use our technology in different ways. They will be speaking: Giuseppe Masciulli, Antonio Blessent, Luca Adami. Three different beekeepers and three different beekeeping experiences. How has the introduction of 3Bee systems changed their work? What prompted them to rely on these new technologies? What needs can they answer? These will be just some of the topics we will address on 19 November 2020 at 5pm in the 3Bee webinar, which you can follow directly from our Facebook page. Join our group to stay up-to-date and don't miss the start of the event! For you a special 3Bee surprise!
