3Bee Launches the Biodiversity Oasis Project

With the Biodiversity Oasis project, 3Bee is setting itself a goal that is as ambitious as it is important by 2023: the planting of 100,000 native trees that will provide nectar for an equivalent of about 3,500 beehives, absorbing about 10,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

    Biodiversity Oasis

3Bee, an innovative agri-tech start-up specialising in the development of monitoring systems for the preservation and protection of bees, launches Oases of Biodiversity, a new and important all-Italian project aimed at planting native trees with high nectar potential to rebalance environmental ecosystems, guaranteeing pollinator grazing and contributing to CO2 absorption. The planting programme will ensure increased nectar production, which bees sorely need. In the past year, alternating sudden frosts and difficult dry spells have, in fact, forced beekeepers to resort to emergency feeding to feed their bees, which has also led to a decrease in honey production.

    Plant a native tree

In this way, 3Bee will involve all stakeholders in supporting the creation of the Oases, to bring value and create a community of people and companies aware of environmental protection issues. The project is, in fact, aimed at the development of Oases created with trees that are already growing, not in the form of seeds, to achieve concrete and faster results, with attention to the needs and characteristics of each territory. The Oases will be realised with the support of beekeepers and farmers who choose to make their land and experience available for the care of the trees and who will be put in contact with 3Bee's team of biologists and researchers.

    Our goal

Our goal? The planting of 100,000 indigenous trees by 2023 will make it possible to provide enough stock each year for the equivalent of about 3500 hives, i.e. the number of hives monitored by 3Bee, guaranteeing the production of about 600 thousand tonnes of nectar and absorbing about 10 thousand tonnes of CO2 every 12 months, equal to the polluting emissions of 40 thousand cars. Important results from an environmental perspective, but also from a social and economic one: with this project, in fact, beekeeper growers will be remunerated with an annual contribution for the care and growth of these trees.

    Our goal

    Environmental and cultural renaissance

"At 3Bee, we firmly believe in the importance of raising awareness in communities: this is why we have initiated several environmental education projects, calling on companies and all stakeholders to do their part to help protect bees and ecosystems." "From this awareness, Oasis of Biodiversity was born, a very ambitious project that sees us as protagonists of an environmental and cultural renaissance. Planting new nectariferous trees means creating new Oases: a concrete action to support the beekeeping sector, the territory and the people". Said Niccolò Calandri, CEO of 3Bee. The Oases of Biodiversity project therefore represents a further step forward in the path that sees 3Bee actively engaged on the sustainability front, pursued through awareness-raising actions aimed at companies and communities!

    Create your Oasis

The Oasis of Biodiversity project, already active for companies, is also aimed at anyone who wants to make a contribution to environmental protection. It will soon be possible to create your own personal oasis by choosing native trees whose planting will support bees, providing them with precious nectar and nourishment. Start forming your own oasis, choose your hives! Plant a tree and donate a beehive - you too can protect the planet!

Planting nectariferous plants: how does it work?

With the Nectariferous Groves project, the aim is to plant nectariferous plant species at land owned by our partners (Beekeepers, Farmers, other landowners) to support honey production in the country. The partner will receive the plants and an annual contribution for the management of each tree. We would like to reach 1 million plants per year. 3Bee will enable adopters and companies to protect the biodiversity that plants absorb and create, through the adoption of a tree. In this way we will financially support an environmental regeneration project that can last for years. 3Bee aims to create sufficient oases to prevent bee die-offs and malnutrition, repopulate wild bees, absorb CO2 and rebalance the ecosystem.
