Wild Moss and 3Bee: This is how the Oases were born

3Bee also took part in the Muschio Selvaggio podcast to talk about its innovative technology to monitor the health of pollinators. It was on this occasion that we began to think of ourselves as the 'designer' of biodiversity and from this the Oases of Biodiversity were born.

3Bee at Wild Moss: protecting biodiversity

Last December, 3Bee participated in the podcast Muschio Selvaggio, hosted by Federico and Luis Sal. Within the episode "Protect the Bees with 3Bee", our CEO Niccolò Calandri, talked about the importance of pollinators for ecosystems and launched a virtual 3Bee <challenge on the Moss Oasis with the aim of regenerating natural habitats that support the life of bees and the performance of their indispensable activity for our planet. By participating in the recording of the podcast, 3Bee was able to reach a very wide and varied audience with the intention of letting them know how fundamental the role of pollinators is in our ecosystem.

The challenges for bees: climate change and monocultures

During the podcast, the problems that bees and apoids all have to overcome were addressed, including the effects of climate change, desertification from monocultures, and the overuse of pesticides. These issues were discussed in depth, highlighting the need for a change in the management of our ecosystems. Our CEO Niccolò Calandri, amidst fun facts and untold stories, answered Federico and Luis' most curious questions about honeybees, where we started. Then, he took the guys into the broader scenario of a planet without pollinators, the great real challenge of protecting ecosystems that 3Bee now faces with innovative strategies and important value partnerships with Research Institutes such as ESA and virtuous corporations. After an initial Black Mirror moment, we got to the heart of the story of a Nature Tech that despite having the possibilities has chosen to conduct profit sustainability in Italy.

Creating Biodiversity Oases: a boost for bees

The importance of creating Oases of Biodiversity was another key topic of discussion. These areas, rich in plant diversity, offer pollinators such as bees the ideal habitat to thrive, contributing to the regeneration of biodiversity. In fact, 3Bee's Biodiversity Oases consist of urban and agroforestry habitats designed to provide a safe haven for pollinators and to encourage the growth of native plants. These plants not only provide food and shelter for pollinators, but also contribute to the creation of a balanced ecosystem in which different species can interact and support each other. What makes 3Bee's Biodiversity Oases unique is the use of advanced technology to monitor and track the impact of these areas. This innovative approach makes it possible to assess the effectiveness of conservation strategies, identify potential threats and make improvements where necessary.

The challenge to expand the Wild Moss Oasis

After recounting how 3Bee contributes daily to the regeneration of biodiversity, we started a real pollination battle in the Oasis of Wild Moss. For the occasion, we decided to donate to Luis and Federico two technological beehives of 60 thousand bees each located in Pavia. At the same time, on the 3Bee website we launched a campaign to recruit 'Bee Handmaids' and 'Pollinators' throughout Italy to help regenerate and expand the 'Wild Moss Oasis' dedicated to them. A battle conceived in the form of gamification to amplify and disseminate further the important message of protecting biodiversity and pollinating insects, with the support of presenters Federico and Luis, and to communicate in a simple way that we are all connected and cohesive to face the consequences of climate change.

An innovative business model for ecology

Finally, Wild Musk and 3Bee discussed how business can contribute to ecology. 3Bee's innovative approach, which combines technology and respect for the environment, offers a sustainable and replicable business model, aiming for a future where business and ecology can co-exist and thrive. One of 3Bee's goals is to continue working to protect our precious ecosystem and achieve ever more ambitious results. It is only thanks to the support of organisations and companies that every day choose to become custodians of our Oases of Biodiversity, and their valuable commitment and contribution, that we can achieve concrete change. Imagine the largest ecological corridor of biodiversity from space: a Chinese wall of bee oases.
