MET Energy: Looking to the future

The words of Giuseppe Rebuzzini, CEO of MET Energia Italia. MET Energia Italia is part of the MET Group, u a multi-commodity energy company among the most important in Europe, with activities and investments in the production and trading of natural gas, electricity and renewable sources. MET Group is present with its subsidiaries in 14 European countries, including Italy, and is active in 25 countries and 22 trading hubs on an international scale.

Our vision is encapsulated in the words 'Innovating the Energy Market', so everything we do has the ambition of being 'impactful' in some way. From a social and environmental perspective, we believe it is our responsibility to contribute to improving the world we live in. For this reason, the MET Group has created an environmental and social agenda: "MIND THE FYOUTURE". The project involves four focus areas: environmental protection, ethical behaviour, talent and health.

At a time of high volatility in energy prices and the difficulty of obtaining supplies from traditional energy sources, we offer our customers the possibility of choosing a 100% green supply from renewable sources. In addition, we have introduced innovative technological solutions such as photovoltaic panels, recharging columns and wallboxes to increase our customers' energy and economic savings by making them prosumers. Through the continuous development of Green Assets MET we aim to reach 1 GW of 'green' installed capacity in Europe by 2026. We have recently acquired 100% of 5 greenfield solar projects in Italy, with a planned installed capacity of 213 MWp. MET will also develop one of the largest green hydrogen production plants in Europe.

The challenge of our time is sustainability: the resources we need have never been more limited than now. MET has always developed all its projects with the aspiration of providing the energy needed for everyday activities and at the same time combating climate change. The partnership with 3Bee , i.e. the CSR project of adoption of a technological beehive and the planting of a nectariferous forest, fits perfectly into this development path and allows us to strengthen our sustainability goals.
