3Bee and Fantasanremo: points for sustainability

3Bee is the biodiversity partner for companies that want to make a commitment to the environment. We are dedicated to protecting the environment and promoting sustainability. We combine technology with nature, tradition with innovation to improve the biodiversity around us. 3Bee collaborates with Fantasanremo to promote artists who perform sustainable actions in Sanremo. The collaboration between the two companies has created a unique reward system whereby each sustainable action will populate the oasis of flowers with trees, bees and nectar. Fantasanremo is an initiative that was born in 2020 and has disrupted the Italian Song Festival. Innovating it, digitising it and telling its story in a new, unique and fun way.

We decided to leave this choice to the artists, not to lock them into a format of precise actions. The ability of an artist is to create, engage and transmit. We thus want to leave the choice of sustainable practice options as wide as possible. We will then go on to analyse them in order to assess whether the action really can be defined as sustainable. A few examples: Is drinking from a metal canteen sustainable? Is choosing an organic cotton dress better than a synthetic one? Will shouting greenwashing on stage serve the environmentalist cause? Nuclear yes or nuclear no? Environmental sustainability is a lot more complicated than you think.

Fantasanremo points are a unique game system and are awarded to players based on certain actions of the competing singers during the Festival. Citizens can earn Fantasanremo points by signing up with their own team of 5 singers and participating in one of the championship leagues. Points are awarded every night after being meticulously counted by the Fantasanremo team. Fantasanremo has thus introduced a bonus +10 points, which will be awarded to artists on stage if they perform actions, show symbols or make statements about environmental sustainability.

According to an Ipsos survey, for Italians sustainability is an increasingly familiar and close theme in their everyday lives. Within ten years, the population's awareness of sustainability concepts has grown exponentially, from 8% to 37%. In the commitment that every citizen makes towards the Planet, there must also be a focus on the protection and regeneration of biodiversity. This is why 3Bee has created the Flower Oasis of Fantasanremo, in which it will plant a nectariferous tree for every sustainable environmental action implemented by the competing singers.

With the Fantasanremo Registration the fun starts long before the start of the Festival. During the creation of one's team, one can in fact choose what to name it. The players of the 3Bee League have had a blast finding the most imaginative and suitable names for the upcoming competition. On the Instagram 3Bee profile, we have already started flagging up the pollination and biodiversity-themed team names that made us smile the most. From reinterpretations of the most famous Italian songs "fuco nel fuco"or even "miele che poi diventa sale", to the references of the festival protagonists such as "ImpolliniAMA"dedicated to the host Amadeus and the ironic "freeBEEppevessicchio", who this year will not conduct the orchestra for the first time in several years.

The Sanremo week is like a sort of marathon you can't look away from for fear of missing the most hilarious or embarrassing moment. . For the Fantasanremo players, watching the festival in real time is also a way tocheck the actions of their team members. Staying up until three o'clock in the morning to follow the festival is no easy feat, however, but fortunately 3Bee will keep all the players in the league up to date via posts and stories on Instagram and Facebook. A daily recap of the sustainability points activated by the competing singers will be published. Finally, sustainability-related memes will also be quivering to be shared.
