The New 3Bee Devices with Crowdfunding

In almost three years, the team, initially consisting of two people, has grown. Today it comprises 15 young people with a wide variety of skills. Today, the 3Bee team is structured in 3 units: R&D, always working to expand products and services for the beekeeper. Marketing, which deals not only with 3Bee products, but also with beekeeping activities that rely on 3Bee and sustainability projects with large companies, which are increasingly interested in the world of bees and beekeeping. Operations, which manages production, shipping and all the more practical and organisational aspects of the company. 3Bee was founded in Italy, in the province of Como, but has always focused on the entire international beekeeping scene. Currently, with more than 5000 devices marketed, we are in 10 different countries: from France to Australia, from New Zealand to Mozambique, and even Moldova.

3Bee provides remote monitoring systems for beehives. Our IoT devices record the main biological parameters of the hive: weight, temperature, humidity, sound. In addition to these, we monitor the weather and external parameters that may in some way influence the performance of the hive and its productivity. The data, sent to the cloud, can be accessed directly from your personal profile. Thanks to monitoring, our systems allow you to better organise your activity. The beekeeper can schedule inspections and interventions thanks to data and calendar. In addition to receiving specific reminders, the artificial intelligence system helps to identify the occurrence of certain events. For example, it identifies the laying of the honeycomb or other events to keep track of.

3Bee, however, is not just that. Help for beekeepers is not only in the field, in the apiary. With 3Bee, the 'Adopt-a-Hive' project was also born in an all-technological key. "Adopt a 3Bee hive" is a service aimed at all beekeepers who are interested in promoting their business outside the confines of their everyday lives. With "Adopt a 3Bee hive" you can make your quality products known to the widest possible customer base, without moving from home and without having to invest money in marketing and advertising.

"Adopt a 3Bee hive" has generated a new way of selling honey by valuing and telling the story of the hard work of bees and beekeepers. Honey is no longer a simple foodstuff, but a concentrate of biodiversity that tells the story of the territory where it was produced and how, from simple nectar, it was transformed into the honey we all know. In this way we can give honey back the value it has lost due to the invasion of foreign honeys. These, sometimes adulterated, do not respect the high quality standards of the beekeeper's artisanal product. Allowing the consumer to understand what lies behind a jar of honey, the effort, the commitment, the passion and the difficulties, rehabilitates the 'honey product'. This overcomes this period of devaluation, allowing it to be sold at the right price, without losses.

Through 'Adopt a 3Bee Hive', the consumer is brought closer to the producer, thus to bees and beekeepers. This provides both with an unprecedented experience. This leads to the creation of a true community geared towards customer loyalty and increased awareness. All this comes through the monitoring of the adopted hive and the content produced by the beekeeper and shared with its adopters. With 3Bee, the beekeeper will be able to have a direct confrontation to create the content that generates the most engagement with 'his own community' of adopters, being able to share it with an incredibly large customer base.
