Announcement Beekeeping Piedmont Region

The call for proposals is part of the regional programme for beekeeping in Piedmont and covers the period from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022. More specifically, the investments that fall within the expenses financed by the grant are the purchase of equipment for running the apiary and equipment for processing, packaging and preserving beekeeping products. In addition to these measures aimed directly at beekeepers, there are specific measures for associations, cooperatives and research institutes. Specifically, measure A6 and C2.2 concern equipment and nomadism equipment respectively. The total contribution is EUR 300,000.00 and each measure has a 50% contribution percentage. Furthermore, measure E.1 has been activated, which concerns repopulation, with the purchase of swarms, nuclei, bee packs and queens, with a 60% contribution.

Individual or associated beekeepers with a registered office in Piedmont are eligible. They must have compulsorily submitted an annual declaration of hive ownership for the year 2020 by registering with the national bee register. The minimum threshold of regularly reported hives is 52. Possession of a regular VAT number (beekeeping or agricultural) and registration in the Chamber of Commerce business register is mandatory. In addition to this, there is the obligation to have a company file with the CAA and to comply with the hygiene and health regulations for honey processing, both in the case of possession of honey extraction premises and in the case of activities with third parties.

Applications can be submitted until 11.59 p.m. on 15 October 2021 to the Regional Department of Agriculture, Food, Hunting and Fisheries - Agriculture and Food Directorate - Agricultural and Livestock Production Sector, Corso Stati Uniti, 21 - 10128 Torino. You must use the form prepared by AGEA with the barcode available on the SIAN website. The form must be accompanied by all the documentation required by the notice, duly signed and accompanied by a valid identity document. Purchases made before 1 August 2021, costs for used equipment, transport and registration costs and VAT, taxes or fees are not eligible for financing. On the other hand, purchases of equipment for the processing, packaging and preservation of beekeeping products and of specific machines, equipment and materials for nomadism, including beehives, are eligible. Having your bees under control at all times, you can plan targeted visits and interventions, avoiding empty trips and saving time. Monitoring devices will also provide you with valuable information on production and stock consumption, as well as the state of the colony.

Eligible expenses may only be paid by bank transfer, Ri.Ba. or credit card linked to the current account indicated in the application. The minimum amount that may be financed is €2,400.00 and may not exceed €10,000.00. The grantable contribution is 50% of the eligible expenditure.
