3Bee On The Road: Discovering Italian Beekeepers

With 3Bee on the road, we will learn about the differences between the larger beekeeping companies with an important history behind them and the younger, expanding ones. We will see nomadic and sedentary beekeeping and understand the difference between these methods. We will understand the differences between keeping bees in northern Italy and in southern regions. It will be the beekeepers themselves who will talk to us about the problems that plague the sector, what are the daily threats to bees and what could be done to find a solution. Through their first-hand accounts we will learn what benefits they have gained from the introduction of Hive-Tech technology and how this has changed their work. We will also learn how our CSR projects are concretely helping beekeepers in our area by protecting their bees.

The beekeepers we will visit during the 3Bee on the road tour are part of the Adopt a hive network and the CSR programme Pollinate the Planet. Through daily vlogs and live streaming from the apiaries we will be able to get a closer look at what it means to be a beekeeper today, why it is so important to support this sector and why issues such as sustainability and the preservation of biodiversity can no longer be ignored. We will also learn more about honey, seeing first-hand how it is produced and tasting the different types produced. All this will be visible on our social channels: every day a different stage and different beekeepers to meet. We will tell what Italian beekeeping really is, giving voice to the direct protagonists. But what will be the realities that we will meet during this journey on the road?
